A little bit later than usual, but here's the quick report from our latest Gamedev.js Warsaw meetup #15 that happened last month, on Tuesday February 11th 2020.
After the three meetups: #1: intro to WebGL and WebVR, #2: A-Frame and React VR and #3: from the trenches we met last weekend and had a workshop learning how to build WebVR games.
Last week, on March 14th, I went from Warsaw to Katowice for the joint event between Meet.js and Gamedev.js, a meetup we organized together - not the first one, and definitely not the last.
Almost two weeks ago, on February 22nd, the first WebVR meetup was organized in Warsaw - a collaboration between Gamedev.js, Meet.js and SwingDev.
Last meetup this year was held on Tuesday, November 28th in the same place as usual. It was also the very first one I haven't led personally, because I had laryngitis and couldn't say a word.
Last month I had the pleasure of visiting Munich, giving a talk to five hundred people and running a workshop about how to build games with Phaser at the JS Kongress conference.
After what would seem an eternity the Falsy Values conference has returned. The first edition was held in 2011 and then the Front-Trends conference took over. This year we finally had both in a single year - with Front-Trends in May and Falsy Values in October.
After my talk at the meet.js Lublin about the Gamepad API last month I decided to try something new. I wanted to give a talk about WebVR for some time now, but didn't want to start without the proper setup. It ended up exactly how I wanted to avoid it: I gave a talk without the working device.
So here it is: HTML5 Game Development Insights book printed by Apress was published a few days ago and is already available at Amazon. I wrote only one chapter, but still it's the first printed material with me as an author, so I'm super happy about that.
