I was so happy to see the projects I was rooting for in the first Grant for the Web open Call for Proposals were accepted and announced.
The last couple of months were tough, to say the least. They forced some changes in the plan I had for gamedev-related projects in 2020. The good thing is, given the diversification of our activities around Enclave Games, it shouldn't be that bad, although still an unpleasant shift in focus.
This is big news: Enclave Games was awarded with the Grant for the Web, and we'll be focusing on Web Monetization in at least the next half a year. Read on if you're curious how it all happened.
May was a tough month, with some work done, although I hoped more will be accomplished by the end of it. Still, things moved forward a bit further, so overall it wasn't that bad.
April revolved around the Gamedev.js Jam 2020 that was held online between April 13th and 26th - submission time is over, and its voting phase will last until tomorrow, May 3rd.
Coil website just got its Explore page refreshed to help discover and support Web Monetized creators, which was announced via their newsletter. The Gaming section include a few interesting links.
This is not going to be a surprise if I say we were affected by Covid-19 as well. It's not that bad as many other industries, but our daughter Kasia stays home and Ewa is taking care of schooling, so she don't have much time for anything else.
If you haven't noticed, a new portal from Google launched more than a month ago - it's called GameSnacks, and focuses on delivering fast casual gaming experiences.
Even though 2020 is a leap year and February had 29 days instead of 28, it was rather slow and quiet month.
