I was presenting the Gamedev.js Survey 2024 results at the recent bi-weekly W3C WebDX online meetup that happened on February 20th.

I’m part of the Web Developer eXperience Community Group since last year, when the Survey was officially invited. During the meetup I was showing the current results, and comparing them to what we ended up with last year.

Key points revolved around technologies, monetization, AI sentiment, but also happiness. The 2024 report can be viewed on the website and downloaded as pdf, with detailed results on GitHub.

I do plan to present the results at the W3C Games CG as well, though we haven’t confirmed the date for the upcoming meetup yet. Next steps for the Survey itself though would be to have it run earlier than in the very last month of the year, so maybe around July-September.
