meet.js Summit 2026

— 2 min

Last week, on March 4th, the 15th anniversary edition of the meet.js Summit was happening in Warsaw - I was attending the conference and representing the Gamedev.js community.

It wasn’t actually the 15th edition of the Summit itself as it didn’t happen every single year, but it’s been 15 years of the meet.js meetups here in Poland, so still quite the achievement.

I’m part of that history too: my very first talk was at the meet.js Warsaw #3 meetup that happened November 2011, then my very first conference talk was at the meet.js Summit 2012 in Poznań. I then gave multiple talks at various meet.js meetups and conferences, co-organized local events, and we even made a few meetups together as part of the meet.js and Gamedev.js collaboration.

End3r's Corner - meet.js Summit 2026 - Intro

Fast forward to 2026 and I’m at the SGH building, meeting many friends I haven’t seen in years, since Gamedev.js meetups in Poland ended with the start of the pandemic in 2020 and I haven’t been active in the conference space since. I didn’t plan to listen to the talks much as I’m into web game development rather than front-end, but the schedule was AI-heavy, so I found myself listening to a few presentations eventually.

Given the Gamedev.js and meet.js partnership, we (as in the Gamedev.js community) had a Hallway Track slot around 11:00 that Zbyszek, main organizer, anounced casually during his intro speech. I had the chance to stand up and wave to the whole audience, and then had some cool conversations during the actual slot around the lobby.

The sad part of the event almost noone know is that I was offered to build a web game promoting the conference itself, just like I did years ago for 2011-2012 conferences I was attending in Poland. I had too many tasks on my plate trying to catch up though, so didn’t even manage to start thinking about implementing this.

Next year’s not going to be an anniversary, but I’m going to try building something for the Summit anyway, hopefully it’ll work this time!
