I was sitting at the Heathrow airport's gate waiting to board my flight to São Paulo where I was going to give a keynote at the WebBR conference, when I was asked to give a lightning talk at JS Poland 2019.
Two weeks ago, on Tuesday November 19th, we've gathered for the 14th edition of the Gamedev.js Warsaw meetup - it was hosted in the same building as the previous one (Warsaw #13 was all about js13kGames), but in the different place - a floor below of the WeWork spaces.
Right after finishing up with MozFest Arcade in London I flew directly to São Paulo to give a closing keynote at the WebBR 2019 conference about the evolution of HTML5 game development.
I was lucky enough to be asked by Loup Design handling the Grant for the Web fund for Coil to showcase Web Monetized games at the Mozilla Festival's arcade booth - we were showing both Enclave Games creations and js13kGames entries from the Web Monetization category, and tossed in a WebXR game as it's always fun to play VR games at such events.
A few days ago, on Tuesday October 15th we had our thirteenth Gamedev.js Warsaw meetup, and so a special edition dedicated to js13kGames 2019 was held that day.
I'm lucky enough to be part of the Mozilla Tech Speakers program since the very beginning and it's great to see how it grew over the years, and that there are so many super smart and talented people around the world participating. This year's opportunity to meet some of them in person happened in Amsterdam this past weekend, on September 28-29th 2019.
Remember when I said I'm not gonna travel anywhere near September 13th, because there's just too much work accepting the js13kGames competition entries? Well, I was giving a talk the next day in another city - Bielsko-Biała.
I've travelled to London last week to give a talk about WebXR at the FullStack 2019 conference that happened July 10th-12th in the Business Design Centre.
Last week I had a great opportunity to meet with many folks from various companies at the W3C workshop on Web games which was held in Microsoft's office in Redmond to discuss the future of Web game development.
Another month, another meetup. After the first one this year at Warsaw IT Days 2019 in March, and then Gamedev.js Warsaw #11 in April, we've met again in Codility's office on May 23rd and listen to some top quality talks.
