Enclave Games Monthly Report: November 2017

This monthly report is delayed three weeks - it shows how busy my schedule was. There still was a lot of work with the js13kGames competition, but at least it’s finally getting to an end. Also, the last Gamedev.js Warsaw meetup this year happened.

Games

Nothing this time, unfortunately.

Writing

Wrote a blog post Gamedev.js by the numbers with some social stats from Gamedev.js and Gamedev.js Weekly.

Events

We’ve organized the last Gamedev.js Warsaw meetup this year, and although I had laryngitis and couldn’t say a word myself, the event went well - you can read more about it in the blog post. We’ve also teamed up with the meet.js initiative and are already planning some gigs together. They are our good friends, so it went rather natural.

Other

New website for the meetups have launched - gamedevjs.pl, built by Alkor, loosely based on designs Ewa did some time ago. There are plans to use gamedevjs.com in a more international fashion, but we’ll see how it goes.

I’ve (finally) started using Toggl, and to be honest it sucks… that I started it now and not months earlier when I had the chance. It really helps boost productivity and focus on work, I highly recommend trying it out if you haven’t yet.

The js13kGames cardboards and t-shirts were printed, stickers delivered, and everything is being prepared or already being shipped to all compo participants - if you’re one of them, expect the swag bag between now and the next three months (because economic shipping).

After the discussions on js13k’s Slack channel I’m considering starting a Patreon page.

Plans for the next month

Giving talks at Code Europe and GDG DevFest, and then flying to Texas for Mozilla All Hands in Austin.
